GPS route missing / signal not working properlyUpdated 3 months ago

The Ora Smartwatch uses your phone’s GPS to record routes and distance data during outdoor sports. The watch does not have a built-in GPS chip, so a stable connection with your phone and proper app permissions are required for accurate route tracking.

Follow the steps below to ensure proper GPS connection and recording:

  1. Enable GPS and permissions on your phone: Turn on your phone’s Location/GPS, and make sure the App has permission to access your location and run in the background.
  2. Select an outdoor sport: On the watch, open Sports and choose an outdoor activity (e.g., Outdoor Running or Cycling). GPS routes are not recorded for indoor activities.
  3. Stay connected to the app: Keep the watch connected to the App before and during your workout. If the connection is lost, the GPS route may not be recorded correctly.
  4. Keep the app active: Do not close or force-quit the App while tracking your activity. Keep the screen on or running in the background until you finish the session.
  5. Allow time for initial GPS fix: When starting your workout, wait a few seconds for your phone’s GPS to locate your position before beginning your activity.
  6. Avoid interference: For the most accurate results, perform your activity outdoors, away from tall buildings, dense trees, or enclosed spaces that can block GPS signals.

If GPS routes are still missing or the signal does not stabilize after following these steps, please contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance.
